Powerpoints to be displayed at the Convention Center
Nardin seventh graders had their PowerPoint presentations of Buffalo historic sites displayed at the Buffalo Convention Center during the
National Trust for Historic Preservation Conference In October 2011. The featured sites are the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, the Guaranty Building, the Buffalo Psychiatric Center and City Hall. Students prepared the presentations in their art/technology class led by Miss Zimmerman, Mrs. Amigone and Mr. Ricchiazzi. View the powerpoints as a pdf. (Please give it time to load.)
The Diary of Anne Frank inspires 7th graders
Mrs. Twichell's 7th grade language arts students finished their study of The Diary of Anne Frank with a creative project. Students put together a scrapbook of memories from the perspective of a person living in the secret annex or a person helping those in hiding. Other students designed a brochure advertising the Anne Frank House museum in Amsterdam. The scrapbooks and brochures are currently on display in the Koessler Family Library Media Center.
Outside the classroom
Nardin Elementary School takes learning out of the classroom. In January and February, students in grades 5-8 participate in ski club at Holiday Valley, or they opt for adventure club where they spend the afternoon in activities such as bowling, sledding, ice skating, or the arts.
